PERFORMANCE PARTS

BOWL

The American Turbine bowl is the best flowing bowl in the jetdrive industry as proven by the Haliburton Flow Lab as well as Smokin N Strokin, officially the "World's Fastest Jet Boat." American Turbine manufactures bowls to replace the Berkeley JB & JG pumps as well as Dominator. American Turbine now offers its bowl with a double sealed grease lubricated tail bearing.

HIGH PERFORMANCE INTAKE KIT

The high performance intake kit is designed for any craft that runs in excess of 60 mph. As the horsepower of the engine is increased, the ability of the stock intake to direct enough water to the pump unit is limited. By adding shoes of different depths we are able to lower the biting edge of the intake surface, therefore more water is directed to the drive. The ride plate affords the craft extra planing surface behind the shoe to ride on, which un-wets the hull for increased speed.

SNOOTS

Three different snoots are offered by American Turbine.

1. LONG SNOOT R6201

Works well on heavy boats with turbine trims. Increases leverage on the hull, but because it does not drop down, the steering and or nozzle does not drag, which causes an ill handling boat at low speed. Must use an American Turbine high flow nozzle.

2. HIGH FLOW DROOP SNOOT R6301

Designed after the original droop snoot but it incorporates the new high flow design. Available with either full reverse or straight thru race nozzle. Works well on lightweight, high performance hulls as well as any boat that requires tail lift and bow lift.

3. ORIGINAL DROOP SNOOT AND DROP NOZZLE HOUSING R6107 / R6007 

The droop snoot can be purchased as an assembly complete with nozzle reverse bucket, tiller arm and rudder, or you may purchase the drop nozzle housing separately. NOTE: If you are installing a Berkeley nozzle you MUST limit the turning radius by adding a screw on each reverse pin boss so the nozzle o-ring will not turn out past the housing.

IMPELLER / WEAR RING

American Turbine produces impellers and wear rings as a direct replacement for Berkeley, Dominator, Jacuzzi Energizers and Converted jetdrives. American Turbine impellers are available in hard anodize high tech aluminum as well as super strong stainless steel. We offer two impellers that are larger and more efficient than Berkeley or Dominator. Wear rings are manufactured with a front shoulder which helps prevent high pressure water from by-passing to the front of the impeller.

JACUZZI ENERGIZER

American Turbine manufactures a kit that converts the Jacuzzi Model YJ and Eagle axial flow (low pressure) pump to a much more efficient mixed flow (high pressure) pump. The Energizer offers the customer a boat that will run the same speed or faster at a lower RPM. The Energizer upgrade involves removing the Jacuzzi unit from its intake adapter. The Energizer kit retains FIVE parts of the original Jacuzzi pump. The bearing cap, suction piece, inspection cover, transom housing and the mechanical seal from the shaft assembly. A new shaft assembly, wear ring adapter, impeller, bowl and steering are provided by American Turbine. The cost of the kit is comparable to that of a major overhaul. A cost effective solution for the owner, the increase in resale of the boat, often pays for the total cost of the conversion.

TURBINE TRIM

The Turbine Trim was designed for boats that use a single lever control, i.e. throttle/shifter, or that require more reverse thrust such as large boats or boats used on rivers where reverse is so critical. If you have experienced situations with your Berkeley or Dominator where increased RPM while in reverse has a tendency to raise the reverse bucket, negating the reverse thrust, then the Turbine Trim is the right choice for you.

All turbine trims come standard with the ultra trak rudder and changeable nozzle inserts. We have found the discharge diameter can be tailored to your specific need, i.e. a large diameter discharge can reduce the engine RPM at skiing speed by 200 or more Rpm's. Conversely, by reducing the discharge diameter an increase in top speed can be seen.
